Introduction to Geology

Snapshot Geology nowOn the 3rd of July 2016, I had the opportunity to teach these students about the science of Geology. This scientific discipline is huge and proved very difficult to squeeze into a four hour lecture. The students were very engaging and were not afraid to ask for clarity. This time around, I decided to teach the course slightly differently, by moving through time from the early development of the planet in the Hadean Eon to the present day. As I moved through time, I marked out the rise of the Igneous rocks, Sedimentary rocks and finally the rise of the Metamorphic rocks. The lecture ended with a look at fossilisation and my beloved Hominins.
